Fresh trevally fillets

8 March 2013: Foodstuffs (Auckland) Limited is recalling in-store processed trevally fish fillets because they may have high levels of histamine, which can cause scombroid (histamine) poisoning.

Consumer advice

Scombroid (histamine) poisoning can cause symptoms such as tingling and burning around the mouth, facial flushing and diarrhoea. Any person concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

Consumers are advised not to consume this product and should return the product to their retailer for a full refund.
