Teaching resource: BBQ meals are a popular part of the New Zealand summer. Unfortunately about 500 people a day in New Zealand will contract food poisoning from not taking simple and sensible precautions and actions in preparing, cooking, storing and handling food. The following classroom activities are based around the BBQ to develop awareness of and practise food safe behaviour with a particular emphasis on getting these messages home to families.
