Long-term pest management
MPI is involved in a range of national and regional long-term pest management programmes. We work with regional councils, government agencies and other partner organisations to manage established pests and to protect New Zealand from new pests and diseases.
Fiordland Marine Biosecurity Programme
MPI works with other agencies and the Fiordland Marine Guardians to protect the Fiordland marine environment through the Fiordland Marine Biosecurity Programme. Find out about the programme and how it has been applied in the response to an invasive seaweed.
If allowed to spread further, wilding conifers could seriously alter New Zealand's unique landscape. Learn about the programmes and partnerships we've put in place to stop these trees from spreading.
