The purpose of this review is to develop an understanding of current and emerging technologies for in-water cleaning for the development of standard testing requirements. The review will also inform the requirements of the standard to be met.

Aquaculture of the green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus, Gmelin, 1791) has recently become New Zealand’s largest aquaculture export earner. However, the industry is reliant on wild caught larvae (“spat”) that wash ashore attached to foliose seaweeds and hydroids at Ninety Mile Beach within the quota management area of GLM 9.

An extensive dredge survey of scallops (Pecten novaezelandiae) was conducted from 30 October to 18 November 2015 within the Southern scallop stock, SCA 7 (Golden Bay, Tasman Bay, and the Marlborough Sounds). The aim was to evaluate the status of the SCA 7 scallop stock, to inform fisheries management decisions for the 1 April 2016 sustainability round.

This report documents the development of a stock assessment for the Campbell Island Rise stock of southern blue whiting for 1979–2013 using catch history, proportion-at-age, and acoustic survey data up to and including the 2013 season. The primary data sources on abundance were the R.V. Tangaroa wide area acoustic surveys carried out from 1993 to 2013 and proportion-at-age data from 1979 to 2013.
