Celebrating sustainability and innovation in the seafood industry
Kiwis go fishing for sport, enjoyment, and to get food for their whānau. Seafood is also an important export earner.
It will bring in $2.2 billion of export revenue into New Zealand this year and support thousands of people who work in the sector. We need to work together to ensure our oceans are productive and healthy – both now and for future generations.
The Seafood Sustainability and Innovation Awards 2025 are a chance to recognise outstanding contributions to sustainability and innovation right across the seafood sector. They are open to anyone in New Zealand, including businesses, researchers, individuals, iwi, and community groups.
Entries for the 2025 awards closed on 24 July 2025. Finalists will be announced in mid-August and the awards ceremony will be held in Wellington at Parliament on Thursday 11 September 2025.
