UPDATES
New levy rates start on 1 October 2025
The fees (levies) that help pay for the M. bovis programme have been revised. The levies are reviewed each year to make sure the dairy and beef industries fund each programme proportionately in alignment with their agreements with the government.
This change doesn’t mean the total amount of money going into the programme is increasing – it just means the split between the dairy and beef sectors has been adjusted. The new levy rates for farmers and meat processors come into effect on 1 October 2025.
Full details on levy rates are on OSPRI's website.

New raw milk recording requirements from 1 July 2025
Mycoplasma bovis can be spread by infected raw milk when it is fed to calves. From 1 July 2025, new requirements came into effect to record details about the movement of raw milk being used for cattle feed.
The requirements apply to transporters (including dairy processing operators) and receivers of the product. Recording movements of raw milk allows any infections to be tracked quickly.
Full details of the requirements and what to do are on OSPRI's website.
