Review of how dairy export quota is allocated in New Zealand

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is consulting on the dairy export quota allocation system set out in the Dairy Industry Restructuring Act 2001. The current allocation system has not been reviewed since it was introduced in 2007.

We welcome your feedback to help us review the allocation system. We want to know your views on:

  • the way the dairy export quota allocation systems works
  • any challenges and opportunities associated with the dairy export quota allocation system
  • the objectives of the review of the dairy export quota allocation system
  • potential options for changing the dairy export quota allocation system.
