This regulatory impact statement analyses two additional policy proposals for inclusion in the Food Safety Law Reform Bill. The first will allow New Zealand to meet its obligations under the trans-Tasman Food Treaty, and improves the flexibility of the legislation to meet future market demand. The second will avoid potential delays in issuing privileged statements in a food safety incident.
