The 2018 CRA6 stock assessment showed the stock was initially heavily fished resulting in declines through 1995 until the stock approached the soft limit and has since grown steadily. These results come from the lobster stock dynamics model fit to standardised catch per unit effort indices, size frequency data, sex ratio data, and tag-recapture data. Model inference was based on maximum a posteriori fits and Markov chain Monte Carlo simulations.
