Download FAR 2021/17 Estimating the abundance of scampi in SCI 3 (Mernoo Bank) in 2019

Photographic and trawl surveys of scampi in SCI 3 were conducted in September 2019. This area was last surveyed in 2016. The photographic and trawl survey results suggest scampi abundance has continued the increase observed since the 2009 survey. Scampi were tagged and released to investigate growth rates. Additional data were collected, including visually detected Microsporidian infection rates in scampi, sediment samples, acoustic seabed measurements, and stomach contents scampi predators.
