Types of animal fibre and feathers for import
Certain types of animal fibre and feathers are usually allowed to be imported to New Zealand, including:
- unprocessed, scoured-only, scoured and carded, and scoured and dyed fibre from sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, or yaks (wool, mohair, cashmere, and alpaca fibre)
- kangaroo, wallaby, possum, and rabbit fibre
- mink fibre
- bristles and hair
- feathers
- wool grease and lanolin
- raw or unreeled silk
- empty, used wool packs.
