Animal Products (Definition of Primary Processor) Notice 2000
Provides for an alternative meat inspection programme that allows competent company employees to undertake inspection to identify non-food safety conditions.

The purpose of this notice is to exempt animal material and animal products certain requirements in the New Zealand (Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code) Food Standards 2002 where importing country requirements differ from New Zealand requirements.
The notice exempts specified products from the Animal Products Contaminant Specifications for specified levels of contaminants for export to countries listed in the notice.
