It is identifiable, you cannot grow plants from the product, and is clean and free of biosecurity contamination like bugs, soil, or disease.
If any plant products contain honey, egg, or meat it must also be commercially manufactured and packaged, in its original unopened packaging, does not require refrigeration, and the packaging clearly states the amount of honey is less than 2%, egg is less than 5%, and/or meat is less than 5% of the products weight. If any plant products contain citrus products it must also be dried, then either: powdered; or preserved in brine or syrup; or contained in infusion bags; or less than 5% of the product’s weight. |

Do not bring fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, jackfruit products, breadfruit products, monk fruit products, truffles, pink pepper, wolfberry (black goji), woody fungi, puy lentils, poppy seed type papaver somniferum, whole tonka beans, fresh vanilla pods, pasta salad, frozen unprocessed citrus peel and leaves, frozen fungi species that are not Agaricus bisporus, Boletus edulis, Cantharellus cibarius, Craterellus cornucopioides, Lentinula edodes, Marasmius oreades, Morchella conica and Morchella esculentus, frozen unprocessed legumes, sprouting legumes, frozen seaweed and algae, frozen unprocessed gains and seeds, whole grain and seeds that are not “Basic” with the Plants Biosecurity Index (PBI) We recommend storing your homemade products, like meals and preserves, within clear packaging. It reduces the chance for it to be opened during an inspection. Some plant products are protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), like whole/sliced American Ginseng root (xi yang shen). They may require CITES documentation to be imported or may be prohibited. |
