Read these terms and conditions before entering
By entering the Growing Native Forests Champions awards ("the Awards"), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is the organiser of these Awards.
- The nominee takes full responsibility for the content of the entry or nomination.
- The entry or nomination is true and factually correct.
- The nominee consents to the Ministry for Primary Industries undertaking additional integrity checks as required.
- If you are nominating someone else for an award you must have their prior consent, including their consent to these terms and conditions.
- You may enter, or nominate someone for up to two categories. You are required to submit a separate entry form for each category.
- Each entry or nomination must meet the criteria for the category you are entering or nominating someone for.
- Each entry or nomination must relate to work that was started, carried out or completed in the past 24 months.
- There is no cost to submit an entry or nomination into the Awards.
- With the exception of clause 10 below, all travel related costs to attend the Awards event, will be at the expense of the nominees.
- If the winner, or their representative will attend the award presentation ceremony at the National Fieldays in Hamilton in June 2025 MPI will provide a one off payment of $1,000 including GST to the winner of each award category to assist with costs associated with travel, accommodation and entry into Fieldays (such arrangements to be the responsibility of the winner and not MPI). If this payment is made it must be refunded to MPI in the event that the winner or their representative do not attend the awards ceremony.
- Where the entry is submitted by a team or group, one person must be identified as a key contact. The key contact must have authority to act on behalf of the team and will be the contact person for all communication with MPI.
- The nominee agrees that the information provided for each entry or nomination may be used for publicity purposes.
- The nominee agrees to provide imagery to support your entry in the format requested by MPI.
- The nominee agrees to participate in any media, marketing and promotional activities associated with the Awards and the Awards event, including photography and filming of the Awards event, and you agree that these may be used by MPI for promotional and media purposes. Any such use will be entirely at the discretion of MPI.
- Awards judges cannot enter or be nominated in any category.
- If an Awards judge has a conflict of interest regarding any entry or nomination, that judge will not judge the category in which that entry is entered and scores for that category will be aggregated.
- The judges’ decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Sponsors are not privy to entry or nomination submissions, judges’ decisions, or the results. Being a sponsor does not, in itself, create a conflict of interest.
- MPI reserves the right to cancel the Awards programme or any Award category, or to amend these terms and conditions, without prior notice.
- The nominee (individual or organisation) must not be under investigation by any New Zealand or international statutory body (for example, Accident Compensation Corporation, New Zealand Police, Health and Disability Commission, Inland Revenue Department, Immigration, WorkSafe NZ or other).
- These terms and conditions are governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of New Zealand and the Courts of New Zealand will have exclusive jurisdiction.
- Privacy – All personal information you supply will be treated in accordance with MPI’s privacy policy. MPI may collect personal information from you (such as your name, email address and contact number) for the purpose of facilitating your participation in the Awards, and for event management. It may be provided to other event-related organisations or entities (such as other event participants, event sponsors/partners and event contractors) for the purpose of event management or MPI may use it to contact you in the future for purposes relating to the Awards.
- MPI collects information about the nominee’s work and achievements to support the judging panel to evaluate your entry.
- Entries which do not meet these terms and conditions will be ineligible for the awards.
