Vertebrate toxic agents (VTAs) are agricultural compounds that are used to kill or control vertebrate pests like rabbits, possums, and rodents. They include products that affect reproduction.
Attractants or repellents that aren’t toxic to vertebrates are not VTAs.

Laws for vertebrate toxic agents
Vertebrate toxic agents (VTAs) are a type of agricultural compound. You can read the legal definition of an agricultural compound in the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (ACVM) Act 1997.
If you want to import, manufacture, sell, or use a VTA in New Zealand, it must be authorised under the ACVM Act.
