Alfonsino catches from 1989–90 to 2003–14 are described with more detailed descriptions for the two main fisheries (East Coast North Island and South-East Chatham Rise). Observer size frequency data, trawl survey biomass, size frequency data for the Chatham Rise; and stock structure are also summarised. Recommendations on future data requirements and methods for monitoring the stocks are made.
