This Initial Position Paper (IPP) provides the Ministry for Primary Industries’ (MPI’s) initial views on proposals for SBW 6I sustainability measures and other management controls for the 1 April 2014/15 fishing year. MPI has developed this IPP for the purpose of consultation as required under the Fisheries Act 1996 (the Act). MPI emphasises the views and recommendations outlined in the paper are preliminary and are provided as a basis for consultation with stakeholders.
