This report uses modelling to assess the costs and benefits of approaches to managing nutrient runoff within water quality limits. A case study approach was used to model the effects on land-based businesses in three catchments. It enables approaches to meeting limits to be investigated, including good on-farm management practices and economic instruments such as trading of the right to transfer nutrient discharge allowances.
