This report explores ways to incorporate economic factors into traditional catch per unit effort (CPUE) analyses. Economic variables are then examined to determine whether they have any explanatory power. The results suggest that while it was possible to identify relationships between CPUE and one or more of the economic variables included in the model, in no instance did the addition of the economic variables result in a significant change to the final standardised CPUE indices.
