Age compositions of orange roughy from two spawning plumes (Main and Rekohu Plumes) on the northeast Chatham Rise (ORH 3B) in 2012 were compared. The Rekohu fish were an average of 12 years younger than those in Main Plume, and the difference was statistically significant. Otoliths collected from the mid-east coast North Island (ORH 2A) in 1989–91 and 2010 were read to produce age distributions for a stock assessment of this stock.
