Describes three years of market sampling of swordfish and large tunas. The programme is effective in collecting processed weights for most of the swordfish and large tunas caught by domestic longliners in those northern fisheries that are not well observed. The percentage of fish sampled is adequate to avoid the need for scaling for the key species. Seasonal and spatial coverage of effort is reasonably representative of the domestic fleet.
