Prawn killer catches from 1989–90 to 2012–13 are described with more detailed descriptions for the two main fisheries (Bay of Plenty and Hawke Bay/Wairarapa). Apparent increasing catches from the west coast South Island are also described. Trawl survey biomass and size frequency data for the Bay of Plenty and Hawke Bay/Wairarapa fisheries were summarised. Stock structure is also summarised. Recommendations on future data requirements and methods for monitoring the stocks are made.
