Download FAR 2015/06 Review of the longline fishery for ling (Genypterus blacodes) in LIN 2, and an update of the CPUE index

The status of commercial fisheries for ling in FMA 2 was reviewed and estimated catch and effort data from target ling bottom longline fisheries in ECNI Statistical Areas 011-015 were used to update the CPUE abundance index. Lognormal GLM models were fitted to alternative sets of input data and/or explanatory variables. The selected model explained 32% of the deviance in CPUE with fishing year. The standardised index indicates an ongoing decline in the relative abundance of ling in FMA 2.
