A declaration is required from the treatment supplier for kiln dried timber. Requirements for the declaration can be found in Annex II of Instrucao Normativa No. 5 (180 KB). An approximate translation of these requirements follows: The declaration must be issued by the company that performed the treatment and must include:
“The (product) commenced the process of kiln drying on (date of commencement) and remained for (duration of treatment) in a closed chamber with controlled atmosphere, and reached (% final moisture content) moisture content.” The above declaration is not required for timber that is fumigated or heat treated and issued with a phytosanitary certificate. It is not an additional declaration and cannot be made on a phytosanitary certificate. |
