Exporting, Organics, Food, European Union, Northern Ireland
The European Union (EU) recognises New Zealand’s Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP) as equivalent to their organic regulations in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/848 Article 45 paragraph 1(b)(iii) and Article 48.
• The EU lists New Zealand as a third country in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/2325, Annex I.
• MPI recognised agencies for the OOAP are listed in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/2325, Annex I, at point 5 in the entry on New Zealand.
Japan recognises New Zealand's Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP) as equivalent to their regulations for plants and processed plant products.
Overseas Market Access Requirement (OER: OMAR)

Products eligible for export to the European Union with a Certificate of (organic) Inspection (COI) issued by MPI, may also be exported to Norway with a COI issued by MPI.

The United Kingdom (UK) recognises New Zealand’s OOAP as equivalent to the UK organic regulations.
Switzerland recognises New Zealand’s Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP) as equivalent to their organic regulations.

China recognised New Zealand’s Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP) as equivalent to their organic regulations.
The United States of America (USA) recognises New Zealand’s Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP) as sufficient to ensure conformity to the technical standards of the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Organic Program (NOP).
Taiwan recognises New Zealand’s Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP) as equivalent to their organic regulations.
