Complete this form if you're exporting organic products produced in accordance with the Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP) requirements.

Use this form to register as an organic exporter for the first time, make changes, or cancel your registration. The cost for a new registration or renewal is $155.25 including GST. You can pay by credit or debit card or by direct credit. A tax receipt is available on request.

Registration is valid for 1 year. Before your renewal date, you will receive an email with instructions on what you need to do to renew.

Foreign exporter statements

If you are registering as a New Zealand agent acting for a foreign organic exporter, you complete this online application form as the applicant. This is only required if the foreign exporter is not registered in New Zealand. You will need to upload a foreign exporter statement from the foreign exporter.

In submitting this form, I confirm that:

  1. I am authorised to make this application as the exporter, or a person with legal authority to act on behalf of the exporter.
  2. The information supplied in this application is truthful and accurate to the best of my knowledge.
  3. Neither I nor any director, partner, or manager of the applicant has been convicted, whether in New Zealand or overseas, of any offence relating to fraud or dishonesty, or relating to production, processing, or export of organic products.
  4. I am a resident in New Zealand within the meaning of section YD 1 or YD 2 (excluding section YD 2(2)) of the Income Tax Act 2007.
  5. I have read and I understand Organic Export Requirement: Organic Production Rules (OER: OPR) . I agree to comply with the Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP) Organic Export Requirements. I understand that non-compliance may result in removal from the register of organic exporters.
  6. For the markets I am exporting to, I have read and I understand the relevant Organic Export Requirement: Overseas Market Access Requirements (OMARs)
  7. I understand that the OOAP is a cost recovered programme.
  8. I have read and I understand the information about the fees and charges for exporting organics under the OOAP

Payment options for the $155.25 (incl GST) fee

To pay by credit or debit card (Visa or MasterCard) go to our payments page and use the link for our secure online payment system. When making payment, you'll be asked to select the type of fee. Choose 'Organic Exporter registration'. Return to this page to enter your receipt number and submit your OP1 application.

MPI Payments

To pay by direct credit, use the MPI bank account number 03 0049 0001709 002

In the reference details, put the word 'Organic' and your company name. Also include your MPI organic exporter ID or your NZBN (if you have one).

After you submit your application

Processing time is up to 20 working days from the time we determine that your application is complete. When your application has been approved by MPI, you will be added to a published list of registered exporters.
