Testing wine for export
If you export wine, some countries require that the wine analysis meets their requirements. If this analysis is needed for an export certificate for that country, testing must be performed by a recognised laboratory.

Becoming a recognised laboratory
To be recognised, a laboratory must:
- be accredited to ISO 17025 or be working toward accreditation
- be assessed annually by the accreditation body from the date of recognition
- participate in an appropriate inter-laboratory comparison programme as specified by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI)
- use appropriate test methods as specified by MPI.

Apply for accreditation
Apply to International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) for accreditation. This can take 3 to 6 months.
