Our farm monitoring data and other reports focus on individual primary industry sectors. Find a sector's:

  • seasonal production

Viticulture (wine grapes)

The Marlborough vineyard monitoring programme collects and provides annual production and financial data and information for the Marlborough regional vineyard model. Published reports from the programme contain vineyard model data alongside information on industry issues and developments.

Pipfruit (apples and pears)

The Pipfruit orchard monitoring programme collects and provides annual production and financial data and information for the Hawke's Bay and Nelson-Tasman regional pipfruit orchard models.

Published reports are available for 2015, 2016 and 2017 only. Regional pipfruit orchard model data is available for specific years upon request. Requests should be sent to stats info@mpi.govt.nz

Kiwifruit

The Kiwifruit orchard monitoring programme collects and provides annual production and financial data and information for the Bay of Plenty regional kiwifruit orchard model. Orchard model data is available for specific years upon request. Requests should be sent to stats info@mpi.govt.nz

Apiculture (beekeeping)

The Apiculture monitoring programme collects and provides data and information about honey production (prices for honey, bee products and pollination services), and some operating costs. Key industry statistics are reported, including export data for honey and live bees.

In late 2021, MPI discontinued the Apiculture monitoring report.  It was replaced with Apiculture monitoring data, which enables the information to be collated and released earlier.

Pastoral (sheep and cattle)

Data and information on the annual production and financial performance of sheep and beef cattle farms, and dairy farms are reported by our industry partners.
