The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is extending its food safety warning on imported coconut milk products to include an instant coconut milk powder product and a coconut juice product.
On 23 September, MPI issued a food safety warning that people with milk allergies or intolerances should avoid drinking some imported coconut milk drinks that may contain milk or milk products as these allergens are not declared on the label.
The warning now also includes:
- Emma brand Instant Coconut milk powder, 50g plastic foil single serve pack, manufactured in Malaysia
- Yeniu brand Coconut Juice, 1.25kg bottle, manufactured in China.
MPI’s Chief Executive has issued an updated statement under the Food Act 2014 warning people with milk allergies or intolerances to avoid the products which are itemised in the statement.

“All affected products are being traced and recalled.”
